Thank You

Thank You Father God

For loving the world enough to rescue us from the mess we created

For not loving Your Son selfishly, and for letting Him go

For allowing Him to enter into our mess knowing the pain and suffering that awaited Him – and You

Thank You Jesus for being willing to give up comfort, riches, glory, and ‘being God Almighty’

For volunteering to become ‘like us’, born weak and vulnerable as a baby

Thank you for being willing to take the long journey in human form through a hostile world

Thank you for your patience, your obedience, your turning the other cheek, and for loving those who mocked and rejected

Thank you for your kindness to the poor, empathy with the weak, healing of the sick

For modelling the character of Your Father for all to see

Thank you for calling, nurturing, teaching, and guiding your disciples, their families and friends

Thank you for never giving up, when so many gave up on you

Thank you for not avoiding the rejection, pain, and suffering, inflicted by those threatened by your presence

Thank you for demonstrating what a human being filled with God’s Spirit looks like

Thank you for showing us that your Father is kind, compassionate; for us, not against us

Thank you for being a good shepherd

Thank you for inviting me/us to come close and to follow you

Thank you for including us and not walking by on the other side

Thank you for affirming us, assuring us that we are good enough when we come to you as we are

Thank you for being brave, unselfish, long-suffering, generous, humble, and hope filled

Thank you that you were not intimidated by human power, politics, or people

You were not in awe of spiritual leaders protecting their agendas and positions

Thank you that you were never manipulative, secretive, or had hidden agendas

Thank you that you loved outcasts, sinners, lepers, and people from every tribe and nation

Thank you that you had no favorites

Thank you that you endured the Cross for me/us even before I/we had a clue

Before we even realized that we needed saving

Thank you for dying for me/us, the flogging, the crown of thorns, the pain of it all

Thank you for defeating satan, exposing evil, dispelling the darkness, being the light

Thank you Father God for raising Jesus from the grave

Thank you for restoring to Him the Kingdom of Heaven

Thank you for sending the Holy Spirit who gives us power to follow Jesus

On earth as in Heaven

Thank you for forgiveness, revelation, power in weakness, second chances multiplied seventy times seven

Thank you for faith, hope, love, community, the scriptures, music, miracles, friendship, and restoration

Thank You Father, Son, And Holy Spirit – for Easter

The light of the world, the hope for the world, the foundation of the world
