I’m a husband, father, friend – and author.  Still working life out, like most people. I am married to Vi and between us we have three adult children.

I identify with Simon Peter in personality as I follow Jesus. While the ups and downs of life creates character building – it’s not always easy to navigate. As a writer I seek to give expression to the complexity of life, the mystery, the joy, the struggle and the goodness of God.

For many years I was a pastor of a community church on Vancouver Island (British Columbia, Canada). I retired in 2018, slowly turned a page and began a next chapter. I enjoy squash, golf, music, reading, writing, building and fixing stuff. Most recently learning how to carve wooden spoons.

To be honest I’ve struggled to define myself as an author. That seems to be a common dilemma. But the truth is I love writing and trying to distill and articulate hard truths into simple words.
